Life Insurance

You can name Salzburg Global Seminar as a beneficiary of your life insurance policy should other beneficiaries not survive you. You can also donate your paid-up life insurance policy to Salzburg Global Seminar.

How It Works

You can plan now for a future gift by naming Salzburg Global Seminar as beneficiary of a policy insuring your life. At your passing, the benefits transfer to Salzburg Global free of the federal estate tax.

Who Can Give a Life Insurance Gift?

If you are a donor who wants to make a significant gift and have an estate that won’t have substantial assets to distribute to non-family members, then a life insurance gift will be a good fit for you.

Benefits

  • You can support the efforts of Salzburg Global Seminar and drive positive change worldwide.
  • There is little paperwork involved.
  • You can change your mind and beneficiaries at any time.
  • You can claim an income tax deduction.
  • You can remove an asset from your potential gross taxable estate, saving on taxes in the future.
  • You can make a significant gift from income instead of capital.

Important Information

If you have borrowed against a life insurance policy, a gift of the policy with the loan still outstanding will create taxable income for you in the amount of the loan balance.

Please get in touch with your life insurance provider if you have additional questions about life insurance gifts. Also, if you have general questions or made a gift, don’t hesitate to email usfinance@SalzburgGlobal.org or call +1 (202) 637-7683.
