Ferid Agani is the minister of health for the Republic of Kosovo; assistant professor in the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Prishtina (UP); president of the Party of Justice and serves as an adjunct professor at Clemson University, South Carolina. He was registered in the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Prishtina in 1978. In 1984, he completed undergrad studies in medicine and continued the specialization in the field of neuropsychiatry at the University Clinical Centre of Kosovo and completed the specialization in Zagreb in 1991. He received a master's degree in medical sciences from UP in 2003. During the post-war period and afterwards he was engaged as an assistant professor in the Faculty of Medicine, as well as a lecturer in the Department of Psychology at UP. In early post-war years, Dr. Agani was the leader of the mental health reform in Kosovo, led by the Ministry of Health and between 2002 and 2004, he served as director of strategic management. From 2004 until 2007, he served as member of Parliament of the Republic of Kosovo. In 2005, he received the "Max Hayman" award for humanitarian work from the American Orthopsychiatry Association. From 2008 to 2011, he served as the chairman of the regional psychiatry professional association " Albanian Psychiatry League." In 2009, he earned a Ph.D. in medical sciences from UP. In 2012 he received the title Doctor Honoris Causa from Nigde University, Republic of Turkey. Republic of Turkey.
