Saskia Wieringa is the chair of the Foundation IPT 1965 which has organzised a People's Tribunal on the 1965-6 genocide in Indonesia The IPT 1965 was awarded the 2016 Tasrif Award for defending human rights in Indonesia. At present she is working on a book on the propaganda campaign that incited militias to murder hundreds of thousands of their fellow countrymen and -women and on a history of 35 years of the lesbian movement in Indonesia. Wieringa is a returning Fellow of the Salzburg Global LGBT Forum.
