Mahesh is an Indian Police Service (IPS) officer of the 1995 batch and is currently working as commissioner of police of Rachakonda, which is the eastern part of Hyderabad city in Telangana state of India. Rachakonda is new Commissionerate and Mahesh is the first commissioner since 1 July 2016. He has worked extensively in anti-trafficking as well as community picking and has received many international and national awards and medals for his exemplary work. He has also contributed to books on anti-trafficking published by the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC). Mentoring youth for civil services is his passion. In 2017 he was awarded with the U.S. Department of State Trafficking in person report hero award. Mahesh is also a resource person teaching various subjects in policing and other academic fields.
