Joseph Tun Khaing is a program manager at the Peace Studies Center, Myanmar Institute of Theology. The center is working for the development of both formal and informal peace education and the networking of grassroots community organizations to support the national peace process as well as community peacebuilding. He is interested in exploring and learning innovative perspectives and approaches and networking with peace organizations locally and internationally. He is interested in learning about new perspectives and approaches to peace practices and research related to the intersectional studies on economic, development, environment, gender, and peace. He has previously engaged in grassroots level leadership capacity building and networking nationwide by conducting and training on conflict transformation and nonviolence action. He has pursued a bachelor's and master's degree in theology, with his master's in peace studies specifically. The theology studies were the initial studies for him to learn liberal arts education under the rule of military regime that limits education.
