Nang Kaysi

Director, Ethnic Peace Resources Project, Myanmar

Nang Kaysi is the director of the Ethnic Peace Resources Project (EPRP) and founder of Steps Forward, a language, technology, and vocational training center. Prior to becoming director of EPRP, she was a project coordinator for the organization. She is involved in many initiatives such as, the Listening Project, a project to listen and collect voices of local people, teaching handycraft to women and children in the internally displaced people's camp in Shan State, and conducting vocational training for local women. Nang is involved in voter education programs with in local communities and uses theater to raise awareness of important issues within communities. She also trains young people in starting and running their own businesses. She worked as a national consultant for the UNDP -HLP assessment in Northern Shan State, Myanmar for three months. She has a B.Sc. in mathematics and is an ILO-licensed master trainer of the SIYB (start and improve your business) program.
