Petra Masopust Sachova

Chairperson, Czech Institute for Restorative Justice, Czech Republic

Petra is a lawyer, academic and restorative justice advocate who strives for its broad involvement in the Czech criminal law, both at the theoretical level and in practice. Currently, she works as a chair of the Czech Institute for Restorative Justice and as a lecturer at the department of criminal law of the law faculty of Palacký University in Olomouc. Petra serves also as a board member of the European Forum for Restorative Justice and as a coordinator of the Czech part of the European project Restorative Justice: Strategies for Change. She is also a professional guarantor of the building bridges program run by Prison Fellowship, Czech Republic. Petra worked previously as an attorney-at-law in the non-profit sector, especially in cooperation with People in Need. Further, she is a member the Czech Society of Criminology and regularly publishes and lectures in the Czech Republic and abroad. Petra graduated from the faculty of law of Charles University (Prague) and finished her doctoral studies at the faculty of law of Masaryk University (Brno).
