André Guimarães

André Guimarães, Executive Director, IPAM, & Co-Facilitator, Brazilian Coalition on Climate, Forests and Agriculture, Brazil

André Guimarães is the executive director of IPAM. He is also co-facilitator of the Brazilian Coalition on Climate, Forests and Agriculture. He is skilled in nonprofit organizations, sustainable development, corporate social responsibility, business planning, and environmental issues. Prior to IPAM, André was vice-president of development at Conservation International Americas, he founded and managed Brasil Florestas, a company that focused on implementing forest products as environmental services, and was director of A2R Fundos Ambientais. He was the private sector relations coordinator at the World Bank Pilot program to conserve the Brazilian rain forest, in addition to leading other third sector institutions, such as Instituto BioAtlântica and IMAZON. André holds a Master's degree focused in Agricultural Economics from Cornell University and Bachelor's degree in Agronomy from the University of Brasília.
