Kaoru Kumagai

Independent curator, researcher and consultant

Kaoru Kumagai returned to Japan after an internship at the Guggenheim Museum. Since 2014, Kaoru is a freelancer, and planned and managed regional and social art projects, as well as coordinated the digital archives and project evaluation of various activities in the field of culture and art. In recent years, she conducted research on social impact and innovation creation projects in the context of regional revitalization in addition to cultural and artistic projects. Kaoru received a B.A in 2002 and an M.A. in Art History at the University of Tokyo in 2005. She joined the M.A. course in the Department of Art History at City University of New York and studied post-war art.
