Or Asher is a Ph.D candidate in the Department of Political Science at Tel-Aviv University, where he earned his bachelor of arts in political sand history. Or is also the project director of the Center for the Study of the United States at Tel-Aviv University. His dissertation is entitled Judaism, the Market and different notions of Democracy: The Rise of American concerned with ideological trends in the Israeli right-wing toward an American-style conservatism. This shift stems from the US's immense influence on Israeli politics and society and comes as a backlash to supposed left-wing hegemony. His interests are the American conservative movement and its ideological perspectives in the post-Trump era, conservative civil society organization, and their effect on policymakers, the Americanization of Israeli politics, and idea diffusion.
