Lucía Santana

Co-founder, CommunityOn!, Buenos Aires, Argentina

Lucía Santana is an Argentinian family lawyer with a passion for social and community work. She has worked for many years in the field of family and gender violence. Lucia has provided free legal advice, taught at the University of Buenos Aires, and delivered training courses aimed at critical awareness of and responses to domestic abuse, as well as connecting people. In 2017-2018, Lucia coordinated a National Mentoring Program in the Ministry of Social Development of the Argentine Nation. In 2018 - 2019 she was responsible for the justice and gender department of the Secretary of Social and Urban Integration (urbanization project of the former Villa 31, now Barrio Padre Carlos Mugica). She was also a mentor at the University of MINERVA and at the "Foundation World Learning - IDES". Lucia studied to postgraduate level, graduating in Tort Law, Human Rights of Women, and Corporate Social Responsibility. In the field of pedagogy, she trained as a Socio-Community Educator which is her current focus. She co-founded the project CommunityOn! which focuses on social and community education. This concept relies on the creation of spaces where horizontality is the foundation of any learning, where knowledge can be constructed, and where the training of future educators can take place to create real social change.
