Ahmed El Hady is a multitalented internationally recognized neuroscientist and political activist . He is currently a research scientist at Princeton University studying the neural basis of decision making. Most notably, his contributions to post-revolutionary Egypt working closely with international organizations to lobby the Egyptian government to release political prisoners and improve its record on LGBTQ rights. His interest in social change goes beyond activism to the policy and scientific sphere. His exceptional abilities have been recognized by the Adler scholarship that enabled him to attend the Aspen Seminar, one of the world's most infamous policy seminar. He has also worked closely with think tanks such as the Century Foundation to chart out ways to tackle infringements on civil liberties in Egypt. He holds a B.Sc. in Pharmaceutical Sciences from Cairo University, a PhD in neuroscience from Max Planck Institute for Dynamics and Self Organization.
