Giti Thadani is a researcher, writer, archivist, activist and visual artist and has been engaged with creating many projects that work on an inter-disciplinary and multi-lingual level. She was a founding member of the first Indian lesbian archive, Sakhi, and has published several books and articles. She is multi-lingual and has worked extensively on the Hindu Shakti traditions encompassing ancient architectures, visual and textual traditions. She has given workshops, seminars, exhibitions, and audio visual presentations to several universities and cultural centers both internationally and locally. Some of these universities include Delhi school of Architecture, SNDT, Yale, University of Verona, and University of Amsterdam. Some of these cultural centers and NGOs include India International Centre, The Attic, Open spaceindia, Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, Habitat House of world culture, Goethe Institute, Women's Museum Wiesbaden, and Arsenal Film theatre.
