M C Rasmin

Deputy Chief of Party, IREX Sri Lanka Mission, Sri Lanka

M. C. Rasmin is a prominent media and peacebuilding specialist with over 15 years of experience in transitional and post-conflict settings. He is the deputy chief of party of the IREX- Sri Lanka Mission, driving its mission-led Media Development Program with a specific focus on peacebuilding in Sri Lanka. He oversees the media development project, which has a specific focus on media policy reformation, media and digitalization, media and business development, media research, information literacy, and conflict- and gender-sensitive storytelling. He is also the founder of the Sri Lanka Development Journalists Forum where he served as the CEO and director for eight years. During this period, he introduced highly effective media and storytelling approaches for peace and reconciliation and transitional democracy, focusing on equality, diversity, and other rights-based issues. He also introduced several creative media tools such as mobile journalism, radio drama, participatory video storytelling, forum theatre, and interactive media programs in the promotion of inclusive reconciliation in Sri Lanka. He is currently a Ph.D. scholar at Assam Don Bosco University, India.
