Duanghathai Buranajaroenkij

Duanghathai "Nuch" Buranajaroenkij is a lecturer at the Institute of Human Rights and Peace Studies (IHRP) at Mahidol University, Thailand. She is an office head of the Peacebuilding Center of IHRP based in Pattani province,

the deep south of Thailand. Her research interest centers on women's rights, gender, and development issues related to conflict and peacebuilding. Her recent academic papers were titled "Women and the Peace Process in the Deep South, Thailand," published by Peace Resource Collaborative and Political Feminism and the "Women's Movement in Thailand: Actors, Debates and Strategies," sponsored and published by the Friedrich Ebert Stiftung. Her recent research project, Women's Participation in Peace Processes in Myanmar and Thailand, is sponsored by SHAPE-SEA (Strengthening Human Rights and Peace Research and Education in Southeast Asia). She holds a master's degree in conflict analysis and management from Royal Roads University, Canada, and a Ph.D. in gender and development studies from the Asian Institute of Technology, Thailand.
