Mariam Sherwani is a research assistant in the Federal Shariat Court of Pakistan. She joined the prestigious institute recently in 2021. Previously she had served as lecturer law for the law department of the Federal Urdu University of Arts Science and Technology Islamabad in Pakistan for three years where she taught graduate students. She is interested in academia and research and believes that it is only through quality education that we can progress as a nation. She has previously also worked at MTBC- a New Jersey-based healthcare IT company as law officer-in-house counsel. She has received her honors bachelor of laws and master of laws in human rights law from International Islamic University Islamabad, Pakistan, and is currently pursuing her PhD law from the same university. She has also been an Erasmus Mundus Undergraduate Exchange Scholar at the University of Deusto Bilbao, Spain in 2011. She has represented Pakistan as a delegate at the Doha Muslim Youth Forum 2019. Besides this, she has also presented her research papers at national and international conferences and has publications on her credit.
