Niluka Perera

Human Rights Activist, Sri Lanka

Niluka Perera is a human rights activist from Sri Lanka working as the regional coordinator of Youth Voices Count, a network of young LGBTQ+ people in Asia and the Pacific. He is also a member of Youth PACT, a coalition of over 80 youth lead and youth serving organizations working on sexual and reproductive health and rights issues of adolescents and young people. Young people and their rights have always been his passion and he has been advocating for the rights of LGBTQ+ people since 2010. Niluka also currently serves as a member of the global platform to fast track the HIV and human rights responses among gay, bisexual men and other men who have sex with men as well as a member of the advisory group of Community, Rights and Gender department of the Global Fund. He also holds a master's in human rights and democratization from the University of Mahidol, Thailand.
