Namhee Joo

Senior Researcher, International Heritage Education Center, South Korea

Namhee Joo is a senior researcher for the International Heritage Education Center for planning and organizing 'International Training for First Aid Restoration and Conservation for the Preah Pithu Temple at Angkor, Cambodia'. Over the past 7 years, she has been a strong advocate for the arts, especially cultural heritage, as an educator and administrator. She actively seeks new ways of organizing art projects within communities for creativity and innovation and oversees the statewide strategy, implementation and engagement for advancing public policy and investment in the heritage sector. She has organized a range of projects from international culture exchange program with Austria to community-based youth programs. Namhee has a Ph.D. in law and policy on cultural heritage from Korea National University of Cultural Heritage. Her main focus of research is an integrated conservation of tangible and intangible cultural heritage. She is a Fellow of the Salzburg Global Forum for Young Cultural Innovators in 2018.
