Diane Wood

Chief United States Circuit Judge, United States Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit

Diane P. Wood was nominated to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit in 1995, becoming only the second woman to sit on the Seventh Circuit. She has taught at Georgetown University Law School, Cornell Law School, and the University of Chicago Law School as the Harold J. and Marion F. Green Professor of International Legal Studies. She also worked for the U.S. State Department on international investment, antitrust, and transfer of technology issues; Covington & Burling on general antitrust and commercial litigation practice; and the Antitrust Division of the U.S. Department of Justice as deputy assistant general with responsibility for the Division's International, Appellate, and Legal Policy matters. Judge Wood serves on the council of the American Law Institute and previously has served on the governing council of the American Bar Association's Section of Antitrust Law and its Section of International Law and Practice.Her research interests include antitrust (both international and general), federal civil procedure, and international trade and business.
