Hiroko Masuhara is an LGBT activist and social entrepreneur on LGBT issues. Her company's mission is to solve problems surrounding LGBT in Japan, especially improving work environment and public awareness. Hiroko provides LGBT awareness seminars in business offices and lectures in local municipalities. In 2015, Hiroko and her same-sex partner obtained the Japan's first "partnership certificates" for same-sex couples issued by Shibuya, one of Tokyo's most prominent districts. They contribute actively to the visibility of the same-sex couples in Japan. Hiroko published four books about same-sex couples' lives and LGBT parenting. She obtained her Master's degree in French Literature from Keio University.
