Mahesh Devnani is an associate professor of hospital administration and joint medical superintendent at the Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER), Chandigarh, India. He is a physician turned health administrator with more than fourteen years of professional experience in the fields of medicine, public health, and healthcare administration. In his current responsibilities, he provides leadership to the institute's Advanced Cardiac Center and Pharmacy in addition to his teaching and research responsibilities. His areas of interest include healthcare quality, healthcare technology, affordable healthcare, disasters and emergency medicine, influenza and public health emergencies, health promotion, and legal and ethical issues in healthcare. He is actively involved in the institute's various technology driven projects including its computerization project, medical record digitization, telemedicine and others. He is also involved in purchase of medicine, and medical equipment. He received an MBBS (medical degree) from JLN Medical College, Ajmer, a master's degree in hospital administration from PGIMER, Chandigarh, and a master's degree in healthcare administration from Johns Hopkins School of Public Health on a Fulbright-Nehru Fellowship. He is an avid traveler, and loves to read books, play chess, collect stamps and listen to Ghazals in his free time. Mahesh is a Fellow of Salzburg Global Seminar.
