Martin Vidaurre Vaca

National Chief, Iguales ante la Ley (Equal before the Law), Bolivia

Martin Vidaurre Vaca is a founder and national chief of Equal Before the Law program at the Training and Civil Rights NGO in Bolivia. He provides legal representation for the LGBT community and works on political and legal advocacy to ensure that the human rights of the LGBT community are protected in Bolivia. Prior to this, Mr. Vidaurre Vaca was legal adviser for the Latin American Mining Institution where he worked on the Science and Technology for Development Program concerning fair gold commerce, and on the Network for Prevention and Management of Conflicts for Sustainable Industrial Development of the Mining Industry in Iberoamerica. He held diplomatic positions in Andean Community and the European Union negotiations. Mr. Vidaurre Vaca holds a B.A. in law from the Bolivian Catholic University in La Paz, post graduate diplomas in international relations and diplomacy, human rights, and political and legal advocacy; an M.A. in international relations, and diplomacy and consular services from the Bolivian Diplomatic Academy.
