Danish Sheikh

Assistant Professor, Jindal Global Law School, Sonipat, India

Danish Sheikh is an assistant professor at the Jindal Global Law School, Sonipat. His research largely focuses on the intersection of law and the humanities and the legal regulation of gender and sexuality. From 2011 to 2015, he worked with the Alternative Law Forum (ALF), a collective of human rights lawyers based in Bangalore where he was involved in research and advocacy on gender and sexuality, free speech and access to knowledge. He then worked at the International Commission of Jurists on research and advocacy relating to access to justice issues for queer persons. His publications include essays in the Yale Human Rights and Development Law Journal and the Harvard Kennedy LGBTQ Policy Journal. Danish holds a B.A., LL.B. from the Nalsar University of Law, India and an LL.M. from the University of Michigan Law School, USA. Danish is a Fellow of Salzburg Global Seminar.
