Andrew Sheng

Distinguished Fellow, Asia Global Institute

Andrew Sheng is Distinguished Fellow of Asia Global Institute, University of Hong Kong, and Chief Adviser to the China Banking Regulatory Commission. He is the author of "From Asian to Global Financial Crisis" (Cambridge University Press 2009) and "Shadow Banking in China" (Wiley 2015). He writes regularly on international finance for Project Syndicate, AsiaNewsNet, Edge and Star. In April 2013, Andrew was named by Time magazine as one of the 100 most influential people in the world. He holds a first class nonours in Economics from Bristol University, and Honorary Doctorates from University of Bristol and University of Malaya.
