Randal Quarles

Randal Quarles is founder and managing partner of The Cynosure Group, a private investment firm bringing together the resources of a number of the country’s most significant family offices to make long-term equity investments in private companies. Before founding Cynosure, Mr. Quarles was a longtime partner of The Carlyle Group, where he began the firm’s program of investments in the financial services industry during the financial crisis as well as the development of specifically tailored managed accounts of private equity investments for the firm’s largest investors. Mr. Quarles has been a close advisor to every Republican Treasury Secretary for the last 25 years, most recently serving as undersecretary of the Treasury for Domestic Finance in the Bush Administration and before that as assistant secretary of the Treasury for International Affairs and U.S. Executive Director of the IMF.
