Jason Ryle

Executive Director, imagineNATIVE Film and Media Arts Festival, Toronto, Canada

Jason Ryle is the executive director of imagineNATIVE, an Indigenous-run media arts organization based in Toronto, Canada. Over the past 10 years, Jason has led imagineNATIVE through a tremendous period of growth, particularly with the origination's primary initiative, the imagineNATIVE Film + Media Arts Festival, the world's largest showcase of film and other screen-based works created by Indigenous artists. In 2017, he launched the imagineNATIVE Institute which presents professional development opportunities for Indigenous filmmakers in Canada and which has produced a series of reports relevant to the Indigenous screen industries. He is currently on the board of directors for the Toronto Arts Council where is he is the Co-Chair of its Visual & Media Arts Committee and is a script reader for the Harold Greenberg Fund which provides critique and financial assistance to screenwriters in Canada. Jason is also an emerging film producer, whose work has screened at the Berlinale and the Toronto International Film Festival.
