Suzan Monteverde Martins is a member of the Art Commission of the Associação Folclórica Boi Bumbá Garantido, in Parintins, Amazonas, Brazil. She is responsible for preparing the program presented by the Boi Garantido at the Folkloric Festival of Parintins, in the Brazilian Amazon. Suzan is the great-grandaughter of Lindolfo Monteverde, founder of Boi Bumbá Garantido and president of the Lindolfo Monteverde Regional Association. This non-profit association is responsible for the traditional celebrations of Boi Bumbá Garantido and preserves the memory of the creator of this folkloric competition. She is interested in new ideas concerning the relationships between environment, culture and technological innovation. Her projects include research on Brazilian folklore, the memory of women in the boi bumbá and in the legacy of Boi Bumbá Garantido traditions in Parintins. She is also a journalist and physical education teacher. Suzan holds a master's degree in communication.
