Youngji Kwon

Program Intern

Youngji Kwon is a Korea Foundation–Salzburg Global Seminar (KF-SGS) Program Intern in Salzburg, Austria. She conducts research and provides administrative support to assist in the preparation and execution of programs. Before joining Salzburg Global, Youngji finished her master’s thesis about social recognition on Korean female classical musicians based on Foucauldian discourse analysis. She has had diverse work experiences in the cultural sector. She worked as an assistant educator for two years at a non-profit organization in Seoul, which develops and provides integrated art education programs. She also worked as a project coordinator at the Korea Arts Management Service (KAMS). She was an assistant researcher for the Ministry of Gender Equality and Family, plus the National Community Cultural Foundation, based in Seoul. For these studies, Youngji looked at welfare policies for female artists, and she investigated local culture facilities. She has a B.A. in development studies, and in cultural management for social justice studies from Sookmyung Women’s University in Seoul, the Republic of Korea. Youngji also has an M.P.A. in public administration in cultural policy from the same university.
