Meredith Nelson

Development Intern

Meredith Nelson is the Development Intern at Salzburg Global Seminar in Salzburg, Austria. Meredith works with the development team to help research, implement, and secure funding for Salzburg Global Seminar's programs. She is entering her second year of her Master of global affairs degree at the University of Toronto’s Munk School of Global Affairs and Public Policy. During the year, Meredith volunteers as marketing director with Toronto+Acumen to lead its community engagement strategy and help deliver programming. She also volunteers as a senior associate at the Global Risk Observatory where she recently produced a risk brief on the 2020 IMO Sulphur Emissions Regulations. Prior to joining Salzburg Global Seminar in 2019, Meredith worked as a research assistant at Dalhousie University in Halifax, Canada, helping to code and analyze data for the Medical School’s Division of Medical Education and the Department of International Development. She also worked as a research trainee at the Global Institute for Psychosocial, Palliative, and End-of-Life Care in Toronto, Canada, where she assisted with programs working to improve end-of-life care in Kenya and Uganda. Meredith holds a B.A. honors in international development studies and political science from Dalhousie University.
