Juan Pigot is the managing director of his family business company focusing on the environment. He is the chairperson of Parea Suriname since 2014, the organization with 25 members for gay professionals in Suriname. The main focus of the organization was advocacy of LGBT, but reality forced it to also spend time on health, education, and activism. He is an active athlete specializing in running marathons. Besides running, he likes swimming, bike riding, gym work out, playing tennis, and snowboarding. From 2012 to 2014, he was the chairperson of the Surinamese Tennis Association. He was also elected as a member of the board of Confederación de Tenis de Centroamérica y el Caribe (COTECC; Central American and Caribbean Tennis Confederation. Juan obtained a Master's degree in business economics from Vrije Universiteit in Amsterdam, the Netherlands.
