Nakhornphet Pasomsouk

Technical Specialist, Glaxo Smith Kline (GSK) Project, Care International, Lao People's Democratic Republic

Nakhornphet Pasomsouk has been involved with young male and MSM Health, HIV/AIDS/STI, sexual reproductive health and LGBT issues in Lao PDR for over a decade. He is currently a technical specialist for Glaxo Smith Kline (GSK) project at Care International. He works closely with different government partners at all levels, in coordination and working with NPAs, CSOs and the private sector. Prior to joining Care International, Nakhornphet worked for the Global Fund Advocates Network Asia-Pacific (GFAN AP) as a liaison officer in Bangkok in 2015. In 2014, he was a project manager at French Red Cross for the European Instrument for Democracy and Human Rights(EIDHR) funded project "HIV/AIDS and Human Rights" among Key Affected Population and PLHIV" and in 2012 was a consultant for the research project "Exploring Risk and Opportunities to Improve the Health of men who have sex with men and women in Vientiane Capital, Laos" at Burnet Institute. This was his second stint at Burnet Institute where previously, he was a project officer of the Young MSM Peer Education Project. Since 2012, he has served as one of the committee board members of the local LGBT-Initiative group called "Proud to Be Us" Laos. In addition, he was an official first national representative of the MSM community on the Global Fund's Country Coordinating Mechanisms of Laos from 2013 to 2015. Nakhornphet holds a B.A. from a private college in Vientiane Capital, Lao PDR.
