Gerhard Feldbacher is an Austrian designer and architect based in Salzburg, Austria and Budweis, Czechia. He focuses on mobile housing concepts and self-sufficiency as well as sustainable architecture and space-on-demand solutions. In 2014 he realized a portable housing system called Simple Home (simple-home.at). This Project was supported by AWS impulse - a funding program by the Austrian government focusing on highly innovative projects. This building served as a mobile studio for OE1- the national radio at the ARS Electronica in Linz in 2014. Gerhard is also the owner of the flying teahouse, a Japanese paperhouse on wheels which is traveling across the country since 2017. Its first attendance was at the fourth session of the Salzburg Global Forum for Young Cultural Innovators, where it served as an informal meeting space in the Schloss Park. Currently, Gerhard is finishing a modified version of the Simple Home concept.
