Cynthia Burack is a professor of women’s, gender and sexuality studies at The Ohio State University, USA, where her research and teaching areas are political theory and sexuality studies. Her research focuses on US government interventions and advocacy on behalf of LGBTQ people abroad. Previously, she taught at The George Washington University and the University of Florida. Dr. Burack is the author and editor of six books, the most recent of which are Tough Love: Sexuality, Compassion, and the Christian Right and Right-Wing Populism and the Media. She co-edits the State University of New York Press book series, Queer Politics and Cultures. Dr. Burcack was a Hallsworth fellow in the School of Social Sciences at the University of Manchester, UK. She holds a Ph.D. in government and politics from the University of Maryland, USA.
