"Students at the Margins" co-chair talks to Salzburg Global about the social movement to serve marginalized students
Senior Vice-President of Educational Testing Services (ETS) Michael Nettles is a Salzburg Global veteran. After serving as the chair for the "Optimizing Talent" series from 2010-2012, he returned last month to co-chair a higher education session entitled, "Students at the Margins and the Institutions That Serve Them: A Global Perspective."
In an interview with Salzburg Global, Nettles talked about creating a global movement around supporting underprivileged students. While the United States has a long history of supporting minorities through institutions like Historically Black Colleges and Universities and Hispanic Serving Institutions—as Nettles said—he was surprised and excited to learn about institutions with similar purposes or missions in Europe and around the world.
