Memorial service for Senior Fellow of Salzburg Global Seminar to take place at Columbia Law School Gardner first attended a Salzburg Global Seminar program in June 1975

A memorial service celebrating the life of former U.S. ambassador, Columbia Law School professor and Salzburg Global Fellow Richard N. Gardner will take place next month.

The service is being held in Jerome L.Greene Hall, Columbia Law School, 435 West 116th Street, New York, NY, on Sunday, October 6, 2019, starting at 10 a.m.

Gardner died on February 16, 2019, at his home in New York City after experiencing congestive heart failure.

He was an ardent supporter and Senior Fellow of Salzburg Global Seminar. He served as faculty numerous times at Salzburg and was a member of the Lloyd N. Cutler Center for the Rule of Law Advisory Committee.

A reception will follow the service. If you would like to attend, RSVP here.

If you would like to make a memorial contribution, please donate to The Richard N. Gardner SIPA Professorship Fund—an effort initiated by a significant lead gift to the Columbia School of Public Affairs and supported by Columbia Law School—to establish a chair in Gardner’s name.
