SALZBURG ACADEMY ON MEDIA & GLOBAL CHANGE

Upcoming Program

Overview

What are we learning about COVID-19 and its impacts on our communities? How are media-makers and researchers using  the pandemic to change the ways in which we understand risk, solidarity, and mutual dependence? How has COVID-19 impacted media production, consumption and public trust in media? How could this pandemic help us imagine and achieve different future?

To address these questions, the Salzburg Academy on Media & Global Change is hosting a series of online workshops under the theme Protest, Pandemic and Power. In this workshop we will hear from prominent researchers about current creative and cutting edge research projects that are seeking to better understand how pandemics and protests are impacting our media and civic ecosystems. Each project features unique forms of inquiry, global samples, and insights about how people around the world understand and visualize the impact of the global pandemic on their lives, societies, and futures.
