Purpose

Open exchange of ideas and strong global cross-cultural relationships create fertile ground for innovation to shape a better world. In the last five decades, the Republic of Korea has undergone rapid transformation, in large part thanks to its curiosity for and receptivity to the ideas of others. Maintaining this spirit of internationalism, the Korea Foundation aims to facilitate sharing and understanding between Korea and the rest of the world. Through this, the Korea Foundation seeks to improve the lives of those in Korea further and share experiences from within Korea to help people beyond its borders. 

The Salzburg Global Seminar – Korea Foundation Fellowship program (the Fellowship) builds on a long partnership between the Korea Foundation and Salzburg Global Seminar. The foundation of this partnership has always been to support current and future leaders from Korea to gain cross-cultural experience, grow international networks, and bring a Korean perspective to global conversations.
 

WHAT WILL THE FELLOWSHIP DO?

The Fellowship will build on this partnership and further explore leadership development in an international context. The Fellowship will support a cohort of current and emerging Korean leaders to participate in Salzburg Global programs and additional capacity-building activities. The Fellowship goals are to:

• Increase international exposure for Korean leaders; 
• Build relationships between Korea and the rest of the world;
• Enhance learning and build capacity for Korean leaders;
• Support Korean Leaders in implementing impactful activities during their participation; and 
• Create a lasting network of globally-minded Korean leaders. 

WHO IS PART OF THIS FELLOWSHIP?

This Fellowship is made up of mid-career professionals who are either Korean citizens in Korea or overseas. Fellows have attended a Salzburg Global program with the support of a Korea Foundation scholarship.
