Government-Related Holocaust Education/Information

Ministry of Education, Sports, Arts and Culture – Zimbabwe does not mandate the teaching of the Holocaust, nor is it included in it state curriculum.  They do include lessons on human rights and apartheid.

General Holocaust Education/Information

UN Information Center (UNIC) – On November 11, 2010, five students from two private schools in Harare participated in a video conference hosted by the Holocaust and the UN Outreach Programme, which featured Holocaust survivor Mrs. Margot Friedlander.

Due to social upheaval, over that past ten years thousands of white farmers have been displaced and forced to flee the country.  This has led to a massive decrease in the number of Jews living in Zimbabwe, which went from 7,500 in the 1970’s to fewer than 300 today.
