Government-Related Holocaust Education/Information

Ministry of Education and Vocational Training – Tanzania does not mandate the teaching of the Holocaust, nor is it included in its state curriculum.  The History portion of the Secondary Education Curriculum does include lessons on Socialism, and the Civics portion of the Secondary Education Curriculum includes lessons on Human Rights and Democracy.

Tanzania has a National Commission for UNESCO.

Commission for Human Rights and Good Governance (CHRAGG) – Article 129(1) of the Constitution of the United Republic of Tanzania of 1977, as amended by Act No. 3 of 2000, established the Commission for Human Rights and Good Governance. The CHRAGG’s mission is to “independently promote and protect all human rights, duties and principles of administrative justice in order to enhance democracy, rule of law and good governance.”

General Holocaust Education/Information

There is a very small Jewish Community in Tanzania which maintains its own list of local Jews. 

Legal and Human Rights Center – An institution located in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania,  that envisages a just and equitable society, and which strives to empower the public and promote, reinforce and safeguard human rights and good governance.
