Government-Related Holocaust Education/Information

Ministry of Primary, Secondary and Vocational Education – The Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) does not mandate the teaching of the Holocaust, nor is it included in their state curriculum.  However, their curriculum for history at the Secondary School level does include lessons on Nazism and the creation of the United Nations.  Also, their primary and secondary curriculum includes an entire program on Civics and Morals which incorporates lessons on human rights and a variety of other types of rights and equality.  http://www.epsp.cd/component/option,com_joomdoc/Itemid,84/gid,52/limitstart,15/task,cat_view/

The DRC has a National Commission for UNESCO.

National Human Rights Observatory – The National Human Rights Observatory was established in 2004 and was created by law 04/20.  However, the institution became defunct in 2006.

General Holocaust Education/Information

On January 23, 2012, UNESCO organized a video conference in which French Historian Georges Bensoussan addressed the challenges associated with teaching the Holocaust.  Representatives from the DRC participated in the discussion.
