Ekkehart Naumann

Ekkehart Naumann is a consultant and specialist in the fields of sustainable development with a focus on renewable energy and energy service supply for households, community service, and productive use in remote areas. He has engaged in this work with a number of organizations including the United Nations and various international donor agencies and has worked in Africa, Asia, and Latin America. analyzing and assisting in the implementation of national energy policies; sustainable, remote, and renewable energy systems; waste and waste water systems; and industrial and public-private energy conservation partnership projects. Since 2005, Dr. Naumann has developed energy supply strategies, based on environmentally friendly renewable technologies for governments in, amongst others, conflict countries such as Pakistan, Afghanistan, and recently Kosovo. His teaching experience includes serving as visiting professor at the University of Zimbabwe in Harare and serving as the course director and professor of renewable energy at Carl von Ossietzky University in Oldenberg. Dr. Naumann received an M.Sc. in physics from the Technical University of Braunschweig and later a Ph.D. Dr. Naumann, along with his wife Najwa Gadaheldam, has served on the Faculty of many of the Salzburg Global Seminar's International Study Programs.
