
Edward Luce was made the Financial Times (FT) Washington, DC, bureau chief in July 2006, writing on the US economy, politics, and foreign affairs; and managing a team of ten Washington-based reporters. Previously, he was the South Asia bureau chief, based in New Delhi, appointed in 2001. He started his career as Geneva-based correspondent for The Guardian newspaper of the United Kingdom. His highly-acclaimed book India: In Spite of the Gods, The Strange Rise of Modern India, was released in 2008. Mr. Luce graduated in politics, philosophy, and economics from Oxford University and completed a post-graduate diploma in newspaper journalism from City University, London.
