E. Gerald Corrigan is a managing director in the Executive Office of Goldman, Sachs & Co. He is also co-chair of the Firmwide Risk Management Committee and a senior member of the Firmwide Commitments Committee. Prior to joining the firm in 1994, Mr. Corrigan served as president and CEO of the Federal Reserve Bank of New York. He also served as CEO and vice chairman of the Federal Open Market Committee from 1984 to 1993, and as president of the Federal Reserve Bank of Minneapolis. Throughout his career, he has chaired or co-chaired several industry-wide groups dealing with issues that have major implications for financial market efficiency and stability. Mr. Corrigan holds a B.A. in economics from Fairfield University and an M.A. and Ph.D. in economics from Fordham University. He was a guest lecturer at Salzburg Global Seminar Session 250, World Financial Markets: Assessing Rapid Change, as well as a special session on The Politics of Central Banking, in 1994.
