Fadi Saleh

Gender and Sexuality Studies Lecturer, Germany/ Syria

Fadi Saleh lectures on gender and sexuality studies at the University of Bayreuth, Germany. His responsibilities include designing and teaching courses in the fields of media and literary studies that centralize and highlight gender as a necessary category of analysis. In addition, he mentors and consults students working on gender-related projects. He is also working as a consultant for the Berlin-based Tactical Tech Collective for an upcoming online-security project for LGBTs in the MENA region and as a researcher at the Bayreuth Academy of Advanced African Studies, where he is preparing for his Ph.D. project on internet literature written by sexual, gender and ethnic minorities in North Africa. His research interests include gender and queer theories, African diaspora studies, media and communication studies, the internet, transcultural studies, and cultural and literary studies in the anglophone world and the MENA region. Mr. Saleh holds a B.A. in English literature from Dickinson College, Pennsylvania, USA, and an M.A. in intercultural Anglophone studies from the University of Bayreuth, Germany. He is a Fellow of Salzburg Global Seminar.
