Christiane Egger

Christiane EGGER (co-chair) is the deputy manager of the Upper Austrian Renewable Energy Agency (Oberösterreichischer Energiesparverband) and a manager of the “Ökoenergie-Cluster.” She is also a vice-president of the European Energy and Transport Forum, the consultative committee of the European Commission in the fields of energy and transport and of FEDARENE, the European Federation of Regional Energy and Environment Agencies. She is a member of EUFORES, the European Forum for Renewable Energy Sources, the Austrian Solar Research Center, and the Upper Austrian Electricity Board. Ms. Egger is an energy policy expert on a regional as well as national and European level, and is the co-author of the Upper Austrian energy plan “Energy 21” and also of several position papers on national and regional policies in the field of energy efficiency and renewable energy sources. She holds an M.A. in law from the University of Graz and a post-graduate degree in environmental engineering from the Technical University of Graz. Ms. Egger served on the Faculty of Session 442, Making Green Pay: Designing Incentives to Support Environmental Sustainability, in 2007, and was a resource specialist at the twenty-third symposium of the International Study Program, Global Citizenship: Education for Sustainable Development, in 2008.
