Christian SCHWARZ studied political science at the University of Buenos Aires, where he also taught social theory. As a student, he was staff of a journal dedicated to political and social theory. Then he worked for Grupo Clarín, Argentina’s biggest media group, as a political analyst. He has been in contact to local and international media organizations, like AIR-IAB, SIP-IAPA, WAN, reporters sans frontieres. Also, he took courses of scenarios design at Global Business Network at Berkeley, USA. He then moved to teach at Universidad Católica Argentina on subjects like history of the twentieth century, public opinion and communication and politics. He is now pursuing a Ph.D. in sociology at Pontificia Universidad Católica Argentina. His thesis is based on media as social actors. He is fluent in Spanish, English and German, and learned French at an earlier time. Christian is a member of different virtual communities dedicated to social media studies based on Facebook and Twitter. He has published on his own news blog called The Tilcarallajta Herald based on a small town of northern Argentina since 2005. He is working on a project to write a book dedicated to the Quebrada de Humahuaca region (UNESCO World Heritage Site) related to culture and plants. Sometimes he paints as a hobby. Christian attended The Salzburg Academy on Media and Global Change in 2008.
