Tereza Reháková

Program Director, Institut pro restorativní justici/The Czech Institute for Restorative Justice, Czech Republic

Tereza is the program director of the Czech Institute of Restorative Justice, she prepares new restorative programs such as mediation and restorative conferencing in cases of serious crimes. She worked for a long time in the Probation and Mediation Service (PMS) in the Czech Republic as a probation officer with victims and perpetrators of crimes, within all the usual agendas of probation, including community work, preparation of prisoners for conditional release and supervision. In criminal preparatory proceedings and court proceedings, she prepared victims and perpetrators for the restorative solution of a crime and then carried out its own mediation or a broader restorative meetings. In recent years she was involved in the PMS project testing the activities of parole commissions in the Czech Republic and the possibilities of developing restorative practice, especially in the prison context. She also worked as a counselor for victims and the head of a branch of the non-profit organization supporting victims (Bílý kruh bezpe?í z.s). She completed a series of trainings for direct work with clients in social work, (e.g. work with clients in crisis, trauma, work in the context of help and control), sociotherapeutic training, self-experience and supervision, and not only in criminal proceedings.
