Brian F. KEANE is president of SmartPower, an American non-profit marketing organization dedicated to promoting clean, renewable energy. Mr. Keane was named the founding executive director of Economic Security 2000 (ES 2000) in 1995, and also serves as the president of the American University Alumni Board. From 1992 to 1995, he served as national field director for The Concord Coalition, an independent antideficit organization, where he was responsible for establishing and directing grassroots organizations nationwide. In 1991 and 1992, Mr. Keane served as deputy national field director for the Tsongas for President Campaign, for which he was credited by the national media as the architect for TsongasÂ’ winning primary campaigns in New Hampshire, Iowa, Maine and Maryland. As a former legislative assistant to Congressman Les Aspin, Mr. Keane advised on a host of issues including the environment, social security, medicare, and key federal budget and economic issues. Mr. Keane holds a B.A. in broadcast journalism and political science from the American University in Washington, D.C.
