Julia Kirby

Manager of Research and Content Dissemination, WISE - Qatar Foundation, Qatar

Julia Kirby is the manager of research and content dissemination at the World Innovation Summit for Education (WISE), an initiative of Qatar Foundation. She joined the organization in August 2019. She is interested in educational leadership development and reform processes in K-12 school systems, and innovative ways to address educational challenges and school capacity building in conflict and post-conflict environments. Her current projects include the WISE Empowering Leaders of Learning Program (ELL) and the Agile Leaders of Learning Innovation Network (ALL-IN). Prior to joining WISE, Julia served as the Education Advisor at the U.S. Embassy Qatar from 2012 - 2019, and also as a project director at AED and then FHI 360 from 2009 - 2011, where she worked on a number of international development and capacity building projects worldwide, including education projects in Yemen, Armenia, and Pakistan, in partnership with USAID and the U.S. Department of State. Julia was a U.S. Fulbright Scholar in Yemen and Bahrain from 2007-2009 and earned her M.A. in international relations from Boston University and her B.A. from Colorado College.
