Ryan Allen

Ryan Allen is an associate professor of community and economic development in the urban and regional planning area at the Humphrey School of Public Affairs at the University of Minnesota. His research focuses on the community and economic development processes of immigrants and refugees in the United States. His current projects include an assessment of the relationship between immigrant legal status and travel behavior and the role of municipal governments in creating welcoming contexts of reception for recently arrived immigrants and refugees. He received a master's degree in city planning and a Ph.D. in city planning from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
